The CANTEMIR Programme was established in 2006 to provide non-reimbursable funding for cultural projects unfolded at the international level and having an impact upon high-profile markets abroad.

The objectives of the CANTEMIR Programme are to make Romanian culture visible and accessible in international cultural markets and to encourage cultural co-operation and intercultural dialogue. 

As a public institution of national interest in the domain of culture, we support projects in varied cultural areas such as: literature, visual arts, architecture and design, theatre, music, dance, film or cultural heritage as well as the interdisciplinary ones. 

The Programme is structured into three sections: 

FESTIVAL » Culture by Request (priority programme in 2010)
PROMOTION » Culture to Go
CO-OPERATION » Culture to Share 

Funding is awarded annually within one or several project selection sessions.
